The record dates The Good Samaritan, after Delacroix to 1890. Twenty-three titles in this catalogue name a copy after another painter, and seven of those are dated 1890 — the rest are dated 1889, except one from 1887. This is the only title in the catalogue naming Delacroix.

The canvas measures 73 by 60 centimetres, an upright, and it is held by the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, which holds seven of the eighty-four works dated 1890. The measured palette reads as ochre.
Where the copies fall
Seventeen of the twenty-three copies name Millet, thirteen dated 1889 and four dated 1890. The others name Rembrandt twice, and Delacroix, Daumier, Demont-Breton and Kesai Eisen once each.
