The record dates Morning, Going to Work to 1890, and the measured palette reads as yellow. Yellow dominates sixty-two of the eighty-four works dated 1890 — a larger share of its year than 1888's ninety-three of 135 or 1889's seventy-six of 116. The Auvers period is the smallest of the five but the most uniform in what the palette measurement returns.

The canvas measures 73 by 92 centimetres and it is held by the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, one of three works there dated 1890 out of eight in this catalogue.
