The final year is smaller than the two before it — eighty-four works, against 116 dated 1889 — so a unique subject inside it stands out more sharply than the same thing would in 1888.
What the record gives
The canvas measures 80 by 64 centimetres, an upright, and it is held by the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, one of two works there dated 1890. The measured palette reads as green and yellow.
